We find 8ft and 9ft tables are in more demand than a  full size .
this is mainly down to room size that is available at the  Home of Buyers.

Only been listed 24 hours and we have a few enquiring about this one , will not be up for sale long as 6 legged three section bolted cushion 8fts are not often up for sale second hand or even new
most are made low cost with wood screwed cushions 4 legs and thin one piece slate bed . THIS ONE WAS MADE CORRECT . read description below

We have a client located at Chapel St Leonards near Skegness who has an 8ft snooker table for sale
looking at the photo , I would say it was an allied billiards made table from Birmingham
Those profesional type pocket plates look like the ones they used , they are very similar to BCE extra extra broad bow plates.
you will get a good response from fast shots into these types of pocket plates as they are shaped to deflect the ball downwards much better than standard pocket plates

this is the only photo we have of the table before it was taken down and stored in bubble wrap by Briggs Billiards of sheffield and then taken over to Skegness area from their old home in sheffield.

please note this is a proper made 8ft with 6 legs , bolted into slate cushions and three section thicker slate bed table .
some 8ft tables have 4 legs and these sag down in the middle , others have wood screwedon cushions which do not offer a good rebound value from the rubber . also watch out for thin slates one piece can be as thin as half an inch . this table has thick slates and has been properly manufactured .
these bolted into slate cushions will respond as good as a full size snooker table , the pockets will accept balls at speed , this is the ideal table for people who would like a full size snooker table and do not have enough room for one .

REDUCED just £500 for this steel cushioned Burroughs and watts table

This was Offers around £1500 for this sought after Burroughs and watts table in very good recently reconditioned order and very little use since. NOW £500 for Quick Quick sale

the table is now in storage in a dry storage warehouse in Nottingham .

here are a few photo’s of the table during strip down and removal , the table  is in very good order having recently been re-covered by a local Billiards firm in Sheffield .

The polish is in extremely good condition .

Nets leathers and cloth are also in very good order and in my opinion will not require a re-cover , this table can be set back up using the same cloth
all parts have been bubble wrapped and it is now in storage in Nottingham
there are no accessories with this table it is just the table that is for sale , there are table hooks with it but that’s all.

the very sought after steel cushions , and the name Burroughs and watts is name also very sought after

We have a client who has a nice turned leg oak Burroughs and watts full size snooker table with tournament Steel cushions fitted to it .
This design of table would have been around the 1920/50 period
GCL billiards has not inspected the table but we have been told that it has been maintained by Briggs of Sheffield so it will have been well cared for .
Our client has plenty of time to sell he is not looking for a quick sale but what he describes as the right sale , that means this table will not be going for low money like some have in the past
and to be fair the table looks worth more than the low cost options that you see on ebay and other sale auction sites .
With the steel cushions being worth quite a bit on their own for any upgrade to other oak tables .
But we and our client would like to keep this table together , what you see in the photo’s is what you get and we are looking at this stage for offers .

Viewing is highly recommended to try a few balls around the cushions  and see the pocket size openings at the falls .

The unusual design of the oak turned leg , scrolls , squared off bottom , and segmentation upper on long block with deep framework , typical of the period of 1920/50

This table has scrolls to lower block work and this is very similar to a table we have installed just before christmas which was also a burroughs and watts with scrolls but had square curved leg design

this table sold for around £1500 but this one only had standard cushions ! and not steel cushions like the turned leg version .

plus do not forget added costing for dismantle and delivery and set up  to any sale price of the table .

The table is situated upstairs so it would cost a fair bit to dismantle and deliver and set up , but with the table being Free this would offset the costs.
that is why the owner is giving it away FREE .

as you can see it is was a well looked after table .
and comes complete with balls and tackle

a trader Friend of GCL billiards bought the cue rack and a client of GCL billiards bought the scoreboard.

We have a client who wishes to sell their Desirable Life pool Scoreboard and Rotating Cue rack for £750 for the pair as they are collected from the seller  .
The table is also for sale at a just £200 for obvious reasons, that tables are hard to sell but these scoreboards and rotating cue racks are collectable and easy to pick up and deliver
where Antique dealers do not like getting involved with heavy snooker tables they love getting their hands on items like these because they are an easy sell .
the scoreboard for example if it had the bottom glass doors would sell for £1500 on it’s own , but it requires work to get it to that
the same with the cue rack , it is missing the fancy turnings to the top finials which should be on top  , very easy to have some turned and put on to make this a £750 cue rack on it’s own
as you can see from the above photo the bottom ball cabinet doors are missing , a common sight on these old boards , but the ivory buttons are all intact , this is a strange becuase they usually fall out  ~
The board is in pretty good condition and has the fancy carved top with turned finials .

as you can see the slide markers in their out position showing the three pool life boxwood dots , you may also notice if you have a keen eye that a small pull out star can be slid out to buy an extra life for the game of life pool , the centre slate is good condition and not broken .

the Thurston rotating cue rack , this rack has space for 18 cues , it is missing its top 3 small finials which would be the same as the ones on the scoreboard
and a large finial in the centre , this is a genuine period piece circa around 1910 as is the Scoreboard.
a fantastic opportunity to acquire period antiques of the Billiard age  at Dealer buy in price of just £750 the pair , very reasonable

Once in a lifetime Bargain of the opportunity to own a quality made Full size snooker table
This very fine carved leg Thurston snooker table is for sale at just £200
and that’s because the owner is very realistic on price and requires the room

This table will require some work to restore it , but then again the owner is not asking £1500 for it as it stands like some do
you can sympathetically stain and wax the table frame and have the cushions re-polished
the rubber will require replacing as does the cloth and nets and leathers  .
Please note the Score Board on the far wall is not being listed for sale with the table , but there is a standard scoreboard and accessories that do come with the table .

from this photo you can see the scoreboard that is included with this table , also the metal Hartley engineering Joe Davies approved shadowless lighting canopy which is also with the table
and the balls and rests that are displayed on the table .

A very nice carved design into all 4 faces of the leg topped off with the finger carvings on the upper part
I am sure there is a proper name for this carving design but just not been able to look it up at the moment .

Anthony Hamilton’s snooker cushions from his riley table that was once installed in his Fathers house for him to practice on in the 1980s/90s

I have just fitted a set of steel cushions to a table that was renovated in December 2013 , the cushions that have now come off are in A1 Condition woodwork wise and rubber and cloth wise , they come complete with riley pocket plates with Brown leather and nets fitted.
the cushions come in a clear light oak finish sealant that was applied by the owners.
The owners Brother has his  own Carpentry shop and is a professional Skilled Carpenter , he did a lot of wood work renovations to this set of cushions which by the way once belonged to Anthony Hamilton the snooker player from Nottingham

above you can see the pocket plates with the nets and leathers till attached and the slide in panels with the riley nameplate in the centre of it, these slide in to hide the bolt fixings when on the table .

in this photo it shows one of the cushions resting on top of the newly fitted steel block cushions that the owner has now upgraded to , there is nothing wrong with these cushions they have new rubber on , they do not require re-covering as the cloth has hardly been played on ,

the cushions in December 2013 having the new rubber angles cut to size .
the finish is natural light oak with no stain at all in the wood , note the 1/4 sawn oak figuring in the wood grain pattern ! it really is quality timber that you would not find on any modern snooker table .

the cushions as they look on the table , they have some very nice quarter sawn oak that is figured on the cushions see photo’s !
The steels are a bit less noisy on rebound thud , and the rebound slight better , but with these cushions being solid oak they have very good rebound value too .
If you have a Riley table that has old worn out oak cushions and you are thinking about having them renovated , then here is the best offer you are going to get , just £350 for the cushions complete with pocket plates ready to fit ,and they will just bolt straight onto any Riley welsh slate table with 5 bolt holes on the side cushions and 6 bolt holes on the end cushions , built before 1960s . by 1970s they had moved onto Italian slate with 6 bolt holes in every cushion , this set will only fit tables with side cushions that have 5 bolt hole’s and 6 end cushion bolt holes so please make sure they fit your table , if uncertain ask Geoff .

If you are unsure bring a side and end cushion along to compare the bolt hole spacing’s .

They are collect only from near Derby , direct from the seller’s home . He may even show you his fantastic basement snooker /games room and the table they came off .

at £350 you are really getting the cushions for free as the work gone into to these cushions would cost you in the region of £500 to £600 + what ever the woodwork repairs came to
