Offers close to £1500

We have a client who wishes to sell their very nice Riley billiards diner
the table is a 7ft sized by 3.5ft width playing area , allow a little extra for cushion wood for the total size
the table is made from solid hard Oak wood , not your usual MDF veneered chinese rubbish this is a proper old Riley Billiards diner .

The cloth looks ok from this Photo , Remember this is a private sale GCL billiards has not inspected the table
you are buying direct from the seller .

5 solid OAK hardwood , with quarter sawn oak figuring

the cabriolet shaped legs also solid oak

With all 5 boards on , this how the table looks in it’s lowered position for dining off
when you collect please make sure that all the brass lifting devices are present and working on this table , the table should lift up into the playing height and level adjustment by 4 knurled large under slate screw adjusters
NEVER lift a Riely diner by its leather pocket plates they will break , check that these are tight and not loose on any riley diner as many owners do lift by these ,
you should always lift by placing hands under one end cushion lift and lock into position , and then repeat at the other end , repeat  in reverse to lower

This is what an adjuster bracket looks like under the table top , there should be 4 of these fully working , you only lift one end at a time do not try lift both ends at the same time
the sliding bracket has a pin that has to deflect into a SLOT AT THE TOP AND THEN DEFLECT OUT WHEN LOWERED .

We have a client based near Tetbury Gloucestershire  who wishes to sell their 9ft snooker table
the room that it was used in , is now being used for other purpose and they do not have another room large enough for this table
We have dismantled this table for our client and bubble wrapped every wooden part and it is in storage at our clients property , ready for collection by small transit type van .
the cloth is in not so bad condition and in my opinion can be put back on having plenty of nap and green left in it , but  it does have one water stain at one end , but it is hardly noticeable .

Our client has some outside Barn storage area , the table is in small sections ready for pick up , a van can be backed right up to the doorway , it could not be any easier to collect .
special care should be taken with the 5 section slate bed when loading .
Every part is wrapped , and the small parts have been boxed , you have 6 legs , two long sides approx 8ft , 5 slates , two ends and middle section , 6 cushions and panels , 6  wood tack linings, scoreboard and other accessories , cues and rests ,
balls . bed cloth and knee panels .
Everything has been checked and is all there ready for collection .

this is a very good buy for someone on a budget to have a nice desirable 9ft snooker table , better be quick on this one folks

Was £500 ……… NOW REDUCED steel block Burroughs and watts for just £250 on August 19th 2015 what a BARGAIN !

 

We have a client in Sheffield who has two full size snooker table for sale at very low cost
one table is a Gothic Arts and crafts square shaped leg in Oak with steel Block cushions at £500 and the other is a turned leg Victorian fluted standard cushioned table at just £100

The Steel cushioned Burroughs and watts oak Gothic style table Edwardian style maybe arts and Crafts ? circa 1920s asking price for this table is  £250 , the steel cushions are worth more then this on their own !

the standard Burroughs and watts cushioned table with Victorian fluted leg pre 1895 by the finger plated pocket top plates ,
after 1895 all tables went through a transition of concealed pocket plate fixings  asking price for this table  just  £100 Bargain !
The tables are located in abuilding with 5 to 6 concrete steps outside , this may require three men to bring the slates down to ground floor level by use of slate slide
please ask Geoff at GCL billiards for a quote to move these tables Dismantle and transport and erect .
the Snooker table’s will require some renovation such as new cloth nets and leathers so please take this into consideration .

We have another Client who wishes to move on a full size snooker table for free
this table is not far from Junction 26 of the M25 North of London
The table is Free to collect as our client wishes to use the room for other purpose.
This table was renovated by Thurston and then installed in our clients House.

the table looks to be Mahogany , with very large bulbous legs

everything will come with the table , cues long tackle shade balls scoreboard , in fact everything to play the game of snooker and it’s FREE
all you have to do is arrange to have it collected .

We have been informed that the table has now been found a new Home , but the new owner did give a token payment as he felt the condition of the table deserved it as it was just what he wanted
GCL billiards will be collecting this table and delivering it to the New owner in Kelso

We have another house sale that means the table has to go quick to complete the sale of the house with no issues
The new owners do not require the table and the current owners have the responsibility of disposing of the the table .
so they contacted GCL Billiards to get the table onto the market as a freeby .

please take note person who take this has to pay for dismantle and transportation .

The full size table has a light mahogany stained finish and would go into most properties without any issues as it all splits down to five slates and wooden parts.
The person taking it is responsible for the cost of dismantle and transportation .

the table also comes with an attractive Tiffany reproduction style lighting with 6 glass shades .
also scoreboard and all accessories to play the game of snooker .

This full size snooker table is not available it has been claimed by a new owner for Free on the 17th of June 2015
The new owner is using GCL Billiards to professionally  dismantle and deliver the table just 20 mile up the M1 motorway.

Brought back to top of list again , our clients house has sold and the Full size snooker table has to be out by Middle of July at the latest .

There is nothing wrong with this table and I find it hard to believe that no one is interested in this
there is one thing that has to be mentioned the table is upstairs and has to be brought down past a nice polished sided staircase without damage to the staircase.
It is therefore recommended that you use GCL Billiards or a competent table dismantler and removals to remove the table there will be a cost to this service , please ask Geoff to quote you

if no one wants it , then I am afraid it will be scrapped , which is a shame , I really would like to keep all tables to be put  back into use rather than scrap them .

*** Please be aware this table does not belong to GCL billiards it is a private give away , any dismantle and transportation plus set up will be charged for .
I have had a couple of inquiries asking when I can deliver the free table , please read the advert over again it is only the table that is free not the professional removal and fitting of it .
it will take a large van and at least 3 men to get the slates downstairs .

Removing the table is not an easy thing to do , it has to come down a highly polished staircase without damage and there is a bend in it at the top , it is not a van and a man job or a DIY job .
as long as you employ a professional Billiards or Removal firm to remove the table the owner is happy for you to have it free , you do not have to use GCL billiards , you can arrange your own firm .
GCL billiards have specialist slate slides and trolley to remove snooker table slates .

We have a client who wishes to sell their very ornate snooker table .
the table is based in Dorset. on a Ground floor location .
My client says it is a Cribbs make ? this may be a supplier based sports shop based in Bristol . these sports shops often sell as retail outlets for other firms large snooker tables , and I think they where representing Smith and Nelson on this occasion .
now I have never heard of this Cribbs make but from the photo’s and the knee panel design of the table it is more likely to be a Burroughs and watts table
I will know more when I see some more close up photo’s.

As can be seen this table is very ornate , I am in the process of asking for more photo’s but the ones sent are too large to download
I will be away in Portugal for the next 4 days so any inquiries about this table will have to wait for a response on my re-turn which will be Wednesday the 10th of June

I have managed to download a few more photo’s

A more modern identity plate but not the original manufacturer , I do not think this table has steel cushions on it
the table is Dark / Medium Oak . Smith & Nelson where the people who renovated the table , I do not know if they still exist or still trading as I have goole searched for them and nothing only old cue’s , but have read they where still trading in 1989 in Leeds.
The table could possibly be a Smith and Nelson table , but I somehow have a feeling that the table is more Burroughs and watts designed and type . although I have not ruled out Orme and Sons who made some very nice Oak tables too.

A more close up photo of the table in full , the cloth is more than half decent and can be refitted after transporting .

the table comes with a full range of accessories including an Iron , the long tackle and x rests are stored on hooks on the table .

Having studied the corner pockets as they enter the end of the cushion by the cloth showing this table has standard wood cushions and not steel Block cushions
I am of the opinion that this table was Manufactured by Burroughs and watts around 1920 to 1950s  Circa .
there are beveled slide in cushion bolt panels , the knee panels which hide the leg bolts appear to be the concealed type used by Burroughs and watts ,
if the corner pockets have bolts under neath to secure them to the cushions then I am 100% it is a Burroughs and watts .

This table would fetch at least £3000 form a dealer as it is , my client is wishing to move this table on very quick so is open to offers,  now reduced to just £1750 plus collection and fitting

As you can see many people use GCL billiards to move their table on , from basic club tables to more ornate tables like this , if my client had more time I think this table would reach around the £3000 figure
it is not every day that these tables come up for sale although the market is flooded with full size tables going at very low prices , an ornate one like this is always going to have few more people interested when viewing against a plain table.
as you can see from the photo’s this table was recently renovated and is still in that nice renovated condition .
