Last chance to grab  a Bargain NOW SOLD…………………..NOW SOLD ………………………….NOW SOLD

Local club snapped up this table to replace a worn out table with issues that wasn’t worth even recovering , with this better made table in good condition they have sorted their problems out on a very low  budget .and on closer inspection we found that the cushions where heavy , this was due to steel inserts being put into the cushions for greater bounce and accuracy and it had slate heaters also , so a very good table for little money , in fact just enough to cover our costs delivering and setting the table up .

I hate to scrap good tables and always look for a good home as the first alternative .

We have brought in a full size Riley thin leg modern Snooker table in dark mahogany

I am open to offers for this table and free delivery only to  local area as it is still on the van , until Wednesday 16th , if no takers then it is going to go to the salvage reclaimed yard,  slates will be used for building trade  and wood will probably  end up in a log burner .

But I am giving the chance for some lucky person local to Nottingham and Derby to get this table at a very good price

Reason for quick sale , was because I was paid to get this table downstairs and what a job it was a spiral type stair case and enough room for only 3 men  , it was taken out Saturday 12th July and is still on the van but it has to be off the van by Wednesday the 16th July ,  so you have two to three days only to save it , or it will   be dropped of at Salvage yard if no local takers on that Day  , the previous owner who was only getting rid because the house is up for sale and the house will be worth more with the upstairs room being used as a master Bedroom  , they would like this table to still be used if possible , it would be a shame if it was scrapped ! Balls triangle and all rests included plus a few old rack cue’s . and full size lighting shade.

The table also come’s with two tube slate heaters , these keep slate and rubber in cushions warm for much better game.

If you require it setting up , I can also negotiate a price for this too .

Table has now been sold and we are arranging to bring into storage and work done on the cushions and pockets before loading back up and delivering to south london

 

The table had one person only interested in buying it , which I am shocked really as these type of tables in this condition do not come up for sale often , but the seller is happy and the buying client is delighted with his purchase .
It turned out that I had moved this table  for the selling clients Late Husband , when I worked for an old Billiards firm in Nottingham .

I am not sure if I moved it the last time though , I  may have been on another job or on holiday and the other fitter did the work as the owner always liked to stay loyal to the firm that was maintaining the table for him over the years .

We have a new client who wishes to sell their really good Burroughs and watts Steel Block cushioned table .

the table has stylish square shaped legs , and the wood work looks in mint condition .
Burroughs and watts steel block cushions are the most sought after tables on the market , they are more responsive to consistent bounce , and are very well made , some say that Burroughs and watts where the rolls Royce of billiard table makers .
Many of the other billiards firms suffered in sales when Burroughs and watts bought out their patent steel vacuum cushions in 1896 , and the same design cushions are still used on the modern Star tables as seen on TV today , only the pocket plates differ and pocket openings .
If you want the best Billiard table in build construction and materials,  then you cannot go far wrong with this Burroughs and watts table , I would say this table is Edwardian and I would put a date of around 1920/30 as year of manufacture , Victorian tables where noted for their slimmer legs , these chunky shaped square legs are definitely Edwardian .
Tables with this condition wood work very rarely come onto the market , many are old club tables with worn out polish and X rest nibble on the end frame and cushions .
It is obvious that this table has been in private ownership for it’s entire life , such is the condition of the polished woodwork  , it maybe that is has seen a complete restoration at some point in it’s lifetime .
We have not yet put a value on the table and the owners are open to offers at the moment , it may be that we talk about valuation in a couple of weeks time when I come back off my holidays , if any one requires a quote to dismantle and move plus set up the table , then please Contact

GCL billiards have not inspected the table , but the photo’s do look good , showing the condition of woodwork and cloth , it maybe that a new owner may require the table re-covering , again we can give a quote for this work .
table comes with a vintage Riley Double bevel mirror scoreboard in matching mahogany , a modern cue stand free standing .

The price you pay is direct to the selling client and has nothing to do with GCL billiards , we are not on a commission , but we do charge £25 admin fee for time emailing any buyer and contacting the seller to give details of any one interested , if no one buys from a GCL Billiards enquiry  then the advert is free and no admin charge will be invoiced for.
The main reason we advertise is to get the work of moving the table and any re-covering , in Geoff we have the Skilled billiards fitter with over 39 years of experience and men to complete this work .
We have had some success recently on tables sold from people reading GCL Billiards web site and tables for sale section , so we know it works .
Just be realistic with price , tables are not fetching 1980s prices anymore. if you are unsure on valuations then give Geoff a call to find out what a reasonable price in the current market is for a table like this Vintage Burroughs and watts .
As Geoff is not involved in buying or selling , he will give an honest and realistic valuation based on what is going with the table and condition . and what tables are selling for in the current market .
Tables for sale at realistic prices do sell , those that are overpriced very rarely sell .

I have been instructed by Newark cue club to advertise their 9 foot american Sam K steel pool table at an all in refurbished price of just £1250 . ………..Normally £1550  so save £300 !

This includes dismantle take downstairs load and deliver , set back up on Ground floor location in a local area , and recovered in brand new purple Profesional Euro pool American speed  cloth .

The table has a very light blue cloth on at the moment and will require a re-cover when dismantled , the surround finish is called lacaluca and has a brown marbling over black ,
the under frame is black with matching lacaluca side and end panels .

 

look at photo below. to see what Purple cloth looks like on a sam K steel in Brown/Black lacaluca finish  .
Other colours are available but will incur a postage charge for the cloth of around £15  , I have the purple in stock .

this table has seen very little use in Newark cue club since it was installed , the members like to play on the smaller 7ft supreme tables .

So space required now to expand on the UK pool tables and use the space that this Sam K steel is taking up .

Sam K steel american pool tables are renowned for their solid construction of Steel girder framework often described as solid and well built  as a Land Rover Chassis
Three section slate bed all adjustable on adjustable leveling pads with lock down bolts , upper cushion surround is sectional aluminium coated in the Black finish .
All cushion stapling wood is removable and replaceable so wood never wears out for re-covering unlike some chinese tables , a unique design that makes sense when maintaining tables like these , they are very good tables to work on as they are almost indestructible and stand up to very rough treatment  , I have never seen one scrapped yet , unlike most of the chinese tables that are now getting on in life , Sam tables are built to last .
They are priced at over £4500 when new , so £1250 for this table is a Bargain for someone .

this Oak riley Aristocrat copy would retail at around £2500 to £2750 including lighting and set up  when new so for £750 plus removal costs it is a Bargain not to be missed in a hard to find 10ft size.

Be quick this one will not be around long! house move forces reluctant sale due to downsizing, only used a few times a year and only three years old .

I have a Client who is moving house and the table cannot go , so has to be sold .
the location is Braintree in Essex , this table can only be described as in Mint Condition .
The cloth is virtually as new , only a trace tracking marks  in the corners where ball bruises the cloth on impact in corner pockets and very normal to see,  the legs have a Arts and Crafts or Art nouveau feel about them , and to top it off the table comes with a ornate Brass shade reproduction Gas light with electric bulbs x 6.
this table just requires picking up delivering and setting up .

As for Value , lets not put a value on this all I will say if a dealer was selling it then expect to pay around £5000 fully fitted ,
and no I do not expect that sort of money and the clients are realistic too , so please sensible offers .
There are not many Billiard tables about that you can buy without having to spend a penny on any refurbishment .

The Cushion end plate says Stevens and sons , but I will point out this is just a re-rubber badge advertising that the table is fitted with Meteor cushion rubber fitted by stevens and sons , long taken off by now and replaced with good Northern rubber during it’s renovation .

normally the frame or slates will have Stevens and Sons stamp on them somewhere . like this from another table we dismantled last year .

We have a client based in Lancaster who wishes to sell their 8ft by 4ft snooker table.
the table is a wille holt and is very well made having 6 legs so no slate sagging in centre from the 8ft length .
also the table has three section slate so is ideal for getting upstairs or even into a loft space, providing the floor is strong enough .

The wood work has got a few marks on , but if you are after a playing table rather than a piece of polished furniture that hardly gets used , this is the table for you
The cloth may require replacing but it is up to the buyer , the buyer will have to collect or arrange collection from Lancaster .

A close up of the cloth , it is badly faded in parts , the table comes with the balls that are in the photo plus a couple of rests .

The score board is also a willie holt manufacture, these boards alone can retail at around £60 to £100 second hand on Ebay .
The table is a good make and will have a good thickness of slate around 1.and 1/4 to 1.5 inch  inch .
I am going to leave the table open to offers but as a guide price I value the table in current condition complete will all accessories listed  at around £400 to £600 .

We have a client who wishes to sell their Sam K steel 9ft pool table , cost new from sam today will set you back over £4500 YOU CAN HAVE THIS BEAUTY FOR JUST £995 fully set up on ground floor
You will require around 19ft by 15 ft room , but you can manage with a little smaller room  and use the odd smaller cue .

This table had a recover not long ago in Red and the cloth is still good
,a combined price of picking this table up and erecting on the ground floor we do for £995 this is within 30 mile radius of NG10 4JU

The table is finished in Black ash and comes with the guinness pool balls and the spots and stripes.

The cloth is in very good condition and if taken off very carefull can be refitted

Black ash with chrome corners this table looks good in any decor .

Reason for sale , owner is having a full size snooker table in place of the american pool table .

 

We have a client ( Darren)  who wishes to sell his  Full size snooker table , the table is a full size Allied Billiards a midlands based company who produce large numbers of this model .
a nice turned leg table and from the photo’s in very good condition .and very well cared for .
The table is sold in situ and any buyer must arrange to collect the table either by themselves or by hiring a billiards firm such as GCL billiards to transport and re=erect the table in a new location .
If anyone in Scotland requires the table then we can arrange for a local Billiards firm to give a quote to move the table to keep costs low.

As can be seen from this photo the table is in very good condition .

GCL Billiards have not seen the table and would recommend any buyer to go over and look at the table first , but from the photo’s the table looks in above average to very good condition and around the 8/10 grading for a snooker table rating .
there is a full range of accessories with the table including light , and cue’s balls and rest’s , more enquiries with the seller may reveal even more to go with the table ?
