Square leg (RILEY?) full size snooker table for sale in Hearne Bay Essex

Another client who is wishing to sell his good condition full size Snooker Table which is located in Hearne Bay Essex.  The table’s wood work looks in good condition, the cloth that will be upto the buyer if he decides it requires a recover or even a re-rubber, GCL BILLIARDS can quote for this.  The table was fitted by Steve Davis’ brother who is a billiard fitter.

Table is open to offers, buyer collects.  There is a Dowsing Iron and a pure bristle brush, but this will only be sold with the table if a suitable price is met, otherwise these items will be sold separately on Ebay if the table is sold first.  My advice is try and get them with the table.  A new iron on its own is over £200 and they do not make those pure bristle brushes like the one with the iron anymore.

Balls triangle and rests are included with the sale.  Lighting is a coffin shade, but we recommend the new pro lighting twin tube units over any coffin shade if you buy this table, which GCL Billiards stock for dispatch.

A couple of photos showing the correct undercut of rubber angle

Here are a couple of photos showing in photo 1 a not so good effort of finished undercut at the corner pocket.  This one more so because it is supposed to be a steel block match table.  I have seen much worse than this, but to point a few things out, the rubber at the top edge is too sharp and can cause the cloth to split if left sharp.  Yes rubber can cut through cloth quicker if not sanded slightly at the cut edge.  The undercut is convexed, it has been sanded but not at the back edge, where you can still see knife cut marks.

The second photo Below is of the correct way to undercut the corner angle, nice smooth lines no sharp rubber on the upper edge.  Undercut is concaved to allow for the round edge of the ball to slightly tuck under the lower flat face as it enters into the pocket on impact to the undercut and no knife mark cutting in the undercut at all.
This work was carried out by Geoff large a Time served billiards fitter of GCL BILLIARDS , over the years the art of cutting and shapeing the rubber has not changed much , but the angle and undercutt has been changed many times to suit the modern play and the governing bodies  , some fitters recutt the rubber to the old fashoned angles , if you want it done correctley to modern standards contact GCL BILLIARDS .

New Client for 2013 , Snooker and Pool tables in Derby

Just got a telephone call this morning from a local well known club that has just been taken over , they where desperate to have 5 tables dismantled for alterations today , I was just enjoying my Christmas & New year holidays and had to cutt it short to come in and do this work for them .

They have 15 full size tables and they are going to have 10 Supreme  Winner pool tables to county pool standard and hoping for a match room with a further 3 or 4 full size snooker tables , located near the Centre of Derby with a large Car park , they have also given the go ahead for one full size table move set up  and Recover plus nets and leathers to start the ball rolling of the Snooker Table refurbishments , then it’s see how they go for more Regular work each month in 2013 .
