FREE SNOOKER TABLE ….only conditions it is removed by specialist company who will not damage property !

We have a client who due to house move , wishes to dispose of his full size snooker table
The table looks like it is the older Riley table and has had a set of standard Riley Aristocrat cushions fitted

If anyone wants this table they must pay for professional removal , the table is upstairs
and I am awaiting photo’s of the actual staircase to see if there is any difficulties in getting the slates downstairs

the table is based near Leicester and our client is moving home in around 3 weeks time at the latest ,
this table must be dismantled and removed without damage to the property
there is a staircase involved with a turn in it , the slates are very heavy so do not think this is a Van and Driver job to get it downstairs

we have the correct equipment to carry this work out , slate slide and slate moving trolley plus blankets to protect stair carpet and woodwork .
we also have the correct van to transport this table in .

We have a client who has inherited a set of Ivory billiard Balls full sized at 2inch and .1/6th diameter approx  .
as you can see they have the cross hatch graining of ivory which is unmistakable to spot if you know what to look for
many people sell Bonzaline balls as ivory because they can look like it , but you have to know what you are looking for to spot genuine Ivory billiard balls .
The sale of Ivory has to be carefully monitored and Defra sets the rules on the sale of old ivory in the domestic market in the UK.
Each ball has to be of pre 1st of June 1947 status , if you have these old balls then it is not illegal to offer them for sale as Billiards collectables but they may be subject to an article 10 Defra Certificate the cost of this used to be £31 but I have looked into it and it may be £68 from the start of 2015 .
Now I do not know if these balls have to qualify for that certificate and I suggest you make sure before purchase or sale takes place ,

all three ivory balls are 2 inch and 1/16th diameter approx ,…. you can see the nerve ending this is where the ball turner / maker puts the black dot
I have been assured that the graining is also seen on the red , but the camera cannot pick it up .
and just to show what Bonzaline balls look like see this photo below

Old Bonzaline balls crack and go very dull , unscrupulous dealers sometimes try and sell these as Genuine Ivory balls
So you now know the difference , Ivory balls always show a wood grain effect on the ball , Bonzoline balls never does .
If the Ivory balls do require a defra article 10 certificate , then this may also be the case for those very nice ornate Life Pool marker boards which contain ivory buttons
the Question most would like answering is if there is even the most small amount of ivory on a antique piece do they have to have a Defra Article 10 certificate ?
and if a set of billiards balls do you require three Defra Article 10 Certificates ?

We have a Client who wishes to sell their Fathers full size Karnehm and Hillman Buckingham model snooker table
From the photo’s the woodwork looks in excellent order , this table was installed new in the 1980s for £4500 .
My client knows the current market for full size snooker table and has therefore set a low price of £850 as the asking price.
With the table you get the dust cover and all the rests and cues triangle and balls , everything you need to play the game including the Lighting Shade and scoreboard  .

The actual table that is for sale I have advised that most of the accessories are to be included with the table .
However the Dowsing Billiards Iron is to be sold separately  at £75 , this is the normal price on Ebay that these irons sell for .
if anyone requires the the iron and the table then the iron can go for £50 with the table .
this is very normal for table sales as second hand Billiards Irons are in demand .
As you can see this table has only had private home use from new , it is not one of your worn out Working men’s clubs tables .

The slates where hand floated and the wood used was Brazilian Mahogany , This table is located in Sussex in the BN25 post code area .

the Dowsing none thermostat iron and lead could be included or sold separately ,
you do not normally get these with table sales as they were an expensive option when new and still one second hand .
We always advise to sell iron’s separately as there is a demand for these from pool table owners as well as Snooker table owners
but if you are buying the snooker table then a discount price of just £50 extra will secure this iron for you .
I have to be fair with my information to the seller as well as the buyer so if I say the iron is in demand, I inform the seller as well as the buyer  , GCL Billiards do not own any table advertised on our web site
We like to keep to maintenance and logistics of moving tables rather than get involved in buying and selling snooker tables.
