We have a client who has a very nice professionally cut down from full size to 10ft size by Sir William Bentley Billiards . and from the photo’s it looks in superb condition . The table is dismantled and professionally stored in Dorchester . Ready for collection . My client is asking for a very reasonable £1500 for this very nice Victorian Carved Tulip legged Mahogany table . The table was fully refurbished and installed by Sir william Bentley billiards at great cost , sadly the owners Father has passed away and the table is now for sale , after discussion a value of £1500 is agreed by the seller . This is for the table as is in storage with all parts , as stored by the Billiards company he chose to store it .You can get a price from the Billiard company in Dorset to deliver and set back up . Or you could collect the table yourself in a medium transit sized van . then use a company of your choice to set back up . A bit of History of George Wright and how the royal warrent became avialable to them as shown in centre of the end plaque here , This original George Wright & Co… ivory end plate , shows the Prince of Wales feathers to the left , this would be Queen Victoria’s son, and would succeed Victoria to become Edward the VII , he became King in January 1901 after Queen Victoria’s Death . Victoria prefered Thurston and Burroughs and watts tables as chosen by her for Buckingham Palace and Osbourne House , Edward favoured George Wrights and had many installed at the Royal Palace’s and country homes after victoria’s passing , and the Thurston table was removed from Buckgham Palace and replaced with a George Wright table in May 1897 when Victoria was still based in Osbourne house after Prince Alberts passing . The Duke of York feathers to the right of the plaque belongs to Edwards Son George , later to become King George V , followed his father choice of billiard table manufacturer to the Royal Household of George Wright .
We are not saying this now 10ft table once belonged to the Royal Family , only that the Royal’s chose this maker after 1901 for Buckingham Palace and I believe is still located in there . This table would grace any home and would be a prized asset to the Household , and a talking point , steeped in tradition of Royal choice of Billiard table manufacturer . Now in a much desired size of 10ft to fit a house not having room for a full size 12ft . And I must say from the photos provided by the seller , it has been converted very well to resize the table to a 10ft . The polish looks in excellent order .
Brass cushion bolt cover buttons complete the renovation , to match in with the brass finger pocket plates and rest hooks .

Just as added bit of info , Queen Victoria’s Thurston table that once stood in Buckingham Palace is for sale at £150.000 and has this plaque on the end of it , if anyone is interested in that table , I can put you in touch with the seller of this table too .
We have what can only be described as a fantastic Practice table , a Burroughs and watts build quality , thick slate with bolt into slate cushions , the cushion rubber is full size in full size blocks , so a full size ball or 2 inch ball could be used . I would advise 2 inch balls though on this size of table . This table is ideal if you play a lot of snooker yet do not have room for a full size snooker table . the slates have nut inserts for the cushion bolts built into them just a like a full size slate bed table . most small 7ft tables are built with wood screw on cushions , I would say 99% are made with wood screw on cushions , this table is built the same as a full size table .The table will come with two sets of balls , a pool and snooker set , rests and cues , light fitting , triangle . the cloth and rubber was renewed and not played on much so is in very good order 9/10 condition . I have Acetone’d erased the baulk and D lines out on dismantle, to erase the line for re-fitting of bed cloth . Nets leathers and ball rails in very good condition . Frame and cushions made from high grade Mahogany , Welsh slates , find another made as good as this one . This can only be described as in Fantastic condition , and the photos back this up . The price including delivery and set up on ground floor by qualified Billiards fitter is £1500 within 100 mile radius of Nottingham , or you can pick up yourself in dismantled and bubble wrapped parts for £1250 from Nottingham and I will help load the parts and slates . Not many around built like this table . table is bubble wrapped and stored correct , ready for immediate delivery and set up . I was the last fitter who worked on this table for my client , I replaced the rubber and the cloth .
We are having major problems with our BT connection , and this has resulted in our Land Line phone number being so unreliable , connection is very poor and sometimes not at all connected to the Phone , various engineers have been round and cannot fix it , we are waiting for Fibre to be installed in the road to get back to normal and a better connection once fibre is routed to our property . Which we have been promised will be within 4 weeks time . I hold my breath as 3 months have gone by since they first promised us this . so far engineer has fitted , NEW HUB installed , new wires , new socket , disconnect old copper and use other copper wires to main box , still has not solved the problem . Copper line Kelly company BT engineer blames Fibre engineer for the fault , Open reach Fibre engineer just say copper nothing to do with them . The table is owned by a current WPBSA Snooker Coach , I have personally dismantled and set up three tables for this WPBSA Snooker Coach , each time upgrading from his first table a 9ft 3/4 size to a BCE full size standard cushion , then upgraded this Riley Aristocrat steel cushion table which is what he always wanted to aspire to . These Riley Aristocrat Match tables are much better woodwork and build quality than the Chinese Star Table . ASK ANY BILLIARDS FITTER who has worked on both . ***Although today as I post this , BT have sent us a Dongle to gain internet connection so it may work , which they should have done from day one as they disconnected copper lines , with no fibre even in the ground , and where their fault .
BT and Open Reach , still drag their heals in making a good connection for me we are still operating mainly on my mobile phone 077534 66064 all though the land line phone has been working , it is a bit hit and miss . Our internet is very low powered and some days impossible to even connect . Please use mobile as contact until further notice . Hopefully Open Reach and BT and the local planning office ( Council ) will have sorted our Fibre connection problems .
