I have to make something very clear , an enquiry came in the other day to move a Full sized snooker table and a provisional date was set that the client required , but it was not a confirmed booking , in the meantime the following day someone else booked that date for Confirmed work to recover two pool tables
Later on that day the person who had provisionally booked came back to me to make the booking confirmed , when I had informed him that in the meantime that same day was booked out to someone else he became rather cross with me . I did offer two more dates a day before or two days after the date he required but they where no good to him .
Although he made it plain to me at the time of his enquiry that he was also speaking to other Billiard firms for quotes .
So this is how it is , if a confirmed date is not set , and you are just making enquiries for quotes and references and provisonal booking of a date and you also make it plain you are also speaking to other firms to quote for the same job, then please be aware you may provisionally book a day for future work on youre cue sports table until confirmed , but in the meantime if you have not confirmed that date by booking GCL BILLIARDS , then if that day is required for a definate booking of work by another client , then they get priority of that day .
In the Cue sports trade , we have to make sure that we have continuous work , and by leaving dates to one side when work is there to do on the promise of maybe we will go with you , then this is not going to happen , I have to be pretty clear on this from now on because of this recent scenario , as we do not want to be accused of letting people down when this is clearly not the case. if the person had confirmed he was going with GCL BILLIARDS at the time of enquiry instead of saying he was also thinking of a Birmingham firm to do the work then he would have got that date , but by leaving it open on a half promise of maybe I will go with you maybe I will not , then I will always take confirmed work over a provisional maybe bookings.
I hope clients will understand my stance on this , especialy if you run a business youreself , you can understand why it is important to take confirmed paying work rather than maybe work , after all it is what we are in business for, to work .
At the end of the day my Morgage lender is pleased to see my confirmed cheque at the end of each month rather than maybe I will pay you at the end of the month .
Best Regards
