We have a client who is looking to sell his 10ft snooker Table , we have not inspected the table but a photo has been posted for you to view .
Not sure of the actual make but it has had some work done by Custom Snooker.co.uk
they may have been the supplier. the table would be circa 1980s / 90s onwards
The table is based near Brighton at Portslade.
A rare size that is new to the market , 10ft x 5ft is a size between the slightley smaller 3/4 sized which is 9ft and a full size , so if you have not got enough room for a full size and are falling short by a foot or so in cue room , then this table is the next best thing .
The size of room you should be looking at to fit this table is 20ft X 15ft , a full size table requires 22ft X 16ft .
Table comes with 4 cues , Rests , Snooker and Pool balls , the PRICE ?
OPEN TO OFFERS , please email Geoff at email@example.com we will pass on the sellers email only to genuine buyers.
*** GCL BILLIARDS do not charge a buyer or seller commision , we would be happy to discuss transport and any work you may require for the table to be installed into a new property as our reward for advertiseing free of charge , we are time served billiard fitters so any work would be carried out to the highest degree and youre satisfaction.
We have a client who wishes to sell a nice full sized snooker table made by one of the top Billiard makers of the victorian era.
A George Wright readed leg, with external protruding cushion bolts with wood button covers, thus meaning the full thickness of the cushion body wood is used to tighten the cushion up, making for a far superior bounce from the cushions than a normal recessed cushion bolt. There are 8 cushion bolt buttons missing, but these could be made . Also two of the nine inner frame muntins have been misplaced, but again two could be made up.
The table used to be in a garden building that is now being fully demolished and rebuilt, so the owner has had the table moved to a far superior room which is nice and dry. This has been done so that any buyer can inspect the table first hand and try a few balls around it.
I would recommend a full new cushion wood blocks fitted and re-rubber and re-cover for any new buyer. As you can see from the photo it is a really nice table with its billiard pockets still intact, very rare to see a table with just bag nets on. It has never had the ball rails fitted to it in its life and it still sports its original rubber from new (and they still bounce). This table is over 120 years old !
The 2 inch slates are very true and are of course WELSH manufactured so the best money can buy.
As for polish this is down to the buyer. Some may like to see it just waxed up and keep its true vintage look whereas others may require a full re-polish.
The seller is looking for offers around £2000. A billiards firm would be looking for around £5000 to £6000 + vat fully revamped and fitted. A London billiards house could ask for as much as £10,000.
Look at the original ivory name plate. George Wright displayed many of his designs at grand exhibitions around the world including London, Paris and Sydney. With 16 prize medals awarded on this ivory plaque it informs me it is an early model and around 1890 is the date I would put on it. With Billiard brass recessed top pocket plates and thick slate .you may also note the royal appointment to HRH Prince of Wales. This is Prince Edward so Victoria is still on the throne.
For more detailed history information about the firm George Wright read this link (from Peter clare @ E.A.clare and Peter Hainsworth) also note the dating of the 18 medal plaque as 1894 so I am about bang on with dating this table to circa 1890.
Anyone wishing to view the table which is based in Leicester then please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org , I will then put you in touch with the seller. All we ask is please consider GCL BILLIARDS for any renovation or removal and set up work etc.
We do not charge a commission for this service of putting a buyer in touch with a seller so please use us, we are fully qualified time served billiards fitters.

I have put these photo’s up for anyone looking for a 8ft Billiard / Snooker dining table.
The table is being sold as fully renovated by Brian and Peter at cheshire billiards , Brian has been a big help in setting my buisness up .
An 8ft dining table is rare to find for sale these days , most made where the 6ft and 7ft versions , this is a genuine Riley which has been fully stripped and repolished re rubber and re cover , the score board has been manufactured by Brian and Peters firm Cheshire Billiards , this scoreboard is an exact reproduction of a genuine Riley score board , and has a dual purpose , a concealed scoreboard , and a photo display when not in use .
the table is circa 1930s , Cheshire billiards have carefully left the original transfer of Riley still on the end cushion panel .
*Note* the pull out lifting handles on this 8ft , this is to make lifting up to playing height much easier , the smaller 6ft and 7ft versions did not have this feature , and many people used to lift the table up to playing height by the pocket plates , which damaged the table. you should always lift with these handles , of if the smaller table put youre hands under the end cushion , never lift by the pocket plate.
priced at £4995 and in oak , this table would make an ideal Christmas treat for the Family and a fantastic Dining table for the Home .
anyone interested please contact Brian or Peter at cheshire billiards 01724 852359
please inform them you spotted it on GCL BILLIARDS web site.
I am not on commision just returning a favoir for the help Brian has given me.

these lighting units are realy catching on around the UK .pretty soon all serious cue sports clubs will have them as standard equipment .
Priced at £229 includeing postage for a 12ft table = 2 x 5ft units
and for a pool table £130 includeing postage = 1 x 5ft unit

Another club that has also Seen the LIGHT !
We have a client who is looking to sell on a 8ft x 4ft Sir William Bentley pool and snooker, dual purpose and dual height dining table, which also has the added bonus feature of a table tennis top. We have no photo as yet but will post as soon as we get them.
The table is located in the Scottish borders, but GCL BILLIARDS can provide a quote to pick the table up and deliver.
Here are a few designs that Sir William Bentley have made in the past. I am not yet sure if the table in question is of the same design as one of these or it maybe a copy of the traditional Riley raise and fall diner with turned and fluted legs, but you can be sure it is of the same build quality. Costing nearly £4,000 delivered and installed when new.
Dining tables should have a dual height format whereby the table in its low postion is for dining and in its raised position it is for playing the game of snooker or pool on.
I am awaiting instructions from our clients as to the price they require for the table but it is in their benefit and any future buyer to get it advertised ASAP for the christmas market, hence the rushed advert. I feel this table would make an excellent Christmas present for a house. A nice dining table for the wife which would seat 10 maybe 12 people and a cue sports table of decent size for the husband. I am told the table is in immaculate condition.
Please note that the photos are from libary photo stock. Please await actual photos for the exact design.

Due to people now logging into the website for our FREE FOR SALE blog, we are having many enquiries to advertise snooker tables for sale.
So we now have two 9ft tables on the web site for sale by private sellers, this newly listed 9ft snooker table is based near Burnley.
The photos tell the story, a very nice condition circa 1910/1920s Riley Billiard snooker table. I have not seen the table for a close inspection but from the photos it looks in very good condition and is in a dry warm room. It has had a re-rubber some time ago by Willie Smith of Leeds, the Smith badge looks around 1950/60s, but it may have been rerubbered again after that. There is a genuine original Riley cushion badge that looks to be made out of Ivory. The seller is looking for offers around £1700.
Due to other firms getting in touch with our clients who are selling tables on this Blog (and trying to get the work for transporting and set up) I am now taking all enquiries for all of the for sale Snooker & Pool tables advertised on GCL Billiards blog. I will then pass on any genuine details to the seller and buyer, who I hope will use GCL Billiards qualified billiards fitting team to move the table. A man and a van and his mate is not the way to move these tables, they require expert workmanship in both the dismantling and loading, plus the important set up and leveling of the table making sure the cloth is fitted correctly and all slate joints are level and all bolts torqued up to the correct tension. Only a time served Billiards Fitter can do this to a high standard .
Enquiries for this table to firstname.lastname@example.org quote 9ft riley near burnley in post heading.
SOLD SOLD SOLD . this 3/4 sized table is off to Perth in Scotland on the 11th of November 2013 to a holiday let and will now be enjoyed by people renting out the Holiday let.
We have had some very nice 9ft tables sold on GCL billiards web site , they are sought after and we do get people phone and email us asking if we have any for sale .
they are a popular size , as many people have room for a 9ft table but not a full size .
I have been instructed to advertise a very nice 3/4 sized Burroughs and Watts Snooker table , these 9ft tables are getting harder to locate , there are many full sized tables on the market but very few 9ft or 10ft tables around .
Burroughs and watts where one of the best Manufacturers of billiard and snooker tables in the 1800/1900s this table being from the period of circa 1910/20.
I have valued the table at £1000 to £1500 , but the owner is willing to listen to offers as they require the room for other use , the table is at this moment still in use so can be seen and tried out before purchase , the table is located in the Ashbourne area of Derbyshire .
As can be seen from the photo’s below the table comes complete with antique scoreboard and a modern cue stand , the table may require some work , it all depends on the Clients requirements.
9fts of this quality do not come on the market often.
At GCL Billiards we advertise free of charge , all we ask is please refer us for the removal and transport of the table as our reward , we are not in this to make money out of the sale of the table but a continuation of fitting work is our aim .
If you have a table for sale or you are looking for a table , please get in touch for us to add youre details to the for sale/wanted gcl billiards blog .
We do get hits on this blog all the time from people looking to sell and buy cue sports tables , it’s free and easy to advertise , and we are having success with table sales and wanted.
I am off to Scotland next week to move one such 10ft table that was wanted , for a client in Essex, he had been in touch asking us to locate a 10ft for him and found one in Scotland , we informed him of one and he purchased the table direct from the seller , our reward was the Moving and setting up of the table plus a re-rubber and recover , this free advertising heps all involved , the buyer , the seller , and us the fitting team , everyone is a winner .
